The WBCS 2025 exam pattern has three stages:
1. Preliminary
2. Mains
3. Interview.
The preliminary exam is a screening test with 200 objective, multiple-choice questions on eight subjects, while the Mains exam consists of six compulsory papers (both descriptive and objective) and two optional papers (both descriptive ), with all papers carrying 200 marks each.

Total Marks: 200
